Millie Kay Rowe

     Millie Kay Rowe, age 73, of Castle Hayne and formerly of Burgaw passed from her earthly life Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

     She was born July 5, 1951 in Burgaw, the daughter of the late John Rowe and Sarah Malpass Rowe.

     Millie is survived by her daughter, Sarah Dodgens (Chris); son, Wayne Dodgens (Rachel); grandchildren, Dakota Wehunt and Kai Dodgens; sisters, Carrie Rowe and Rachel Saltzman; and many extended family and friends.

     Millie received a Master's degree in Arts Education and taught art in Pender County schools for many years, retiring in 2013. She was an outstanding teacher who cared deeply for her students and in addition to teaching the school curriculum she taught students many life lessons. 

      The family will receive friends 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw.  A graveside service will be at 12:30 p.m. at Rowe Family Cemetery. The Rev. William Hill Pearsall will conduct the service
