Obituary

Minzet Woodcock Peedin, 76, of Burgaw passed from her earthly life to her eternal rest on Thursday, June 26, 2025.

She was born March 4, 1949 in Currie, the daughter of  the late Robert Elmer and Theressa Woodcock. She was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Woodcock and brother-in-law, John McArtan.

Surviving to cherish her memory is her husband of 47 years, William "Bill" Peedin; daughter, Crystal R. Hurt (Glenn); granddaughter, Robin L. Turner; sisters, Dale McArtan and Pansy Faircloth (Bobby); along with nephews, Marcus McArtan and Michael Faircloth (Leslie); and great niece, Meadow.

Minzet was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt, who dearly loved her family. She enjoyed the simple things in life like shopping, spending time in her flower beds, going to the beach in the summer and to the mountains in the fall. Minzet retired after dedicating 30 years of working at Pender Memorial Hospital. She spent the rest of her years traveling with her daughter and granddaughter to dance competitions or later visiting granddaughter, Robin, where she was stationed in the Navy. When not traveling Minzet  spent time relaxing at home with her husband, Bill, and two cats.

One thing to be said about Minzet was that she never took an opportunity for granted and tried to make the most of everything that came her way in her later years. She was always described as the sweet little lady by everyone that encountered her presence. Minzet will be greatly missed by her many friends and family that loved her. Minzet believed in the Lord and now the Lord is ready to take care of her in the afterlife.

The family will receive friends 5 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel.

Graveside funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2025 at Woodcock Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Terri Zastovnik conducting the service.
