Myrna Glenn Patterson, 79, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and God’s faithful servant was called to her heavenly home by the Lord on Monday, June 13, 2022.
She was born October 1, 1942 in Brownwood, TX, the daughter of Albert H. Bierman and Bulah Cooper Bierman. In addition to her parents Myna was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Patterson; and brother, Richard Leroy Bierman.
Myrna is survived by her sons, William “Bill” B. Patterson, Michael Patterson, and Kevin Patterson (Shannon); grandchildren, Alisia Jackson (Nathan), Kale Patterson, and Kira Patterson; great granddaughters, Grace and Nalah Jackson; sister, Mickie Hansen (Verne) and Lesa Schmitz (Ray); brother, Travis Bierman (Donna); many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Upon moving to Pender County, Myrna joined Herring’s Chapel United Methodist Church where she was taken under their wings, and she became a faithful, devoted member.
Myrna’s journey on earth was a life well lived. Her joy in life included her family, music, and art. Being blessed with many talents, Myrna was an artist and played many musical instruments. Myrna was known by her friends as an intelligent, thoughtful, and independent lady whose kindness was always at the forefront.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Herring’s Chapel UMC with Rev. William Hill Pearsall officiating.
She will be entombed with her beloved husband, James, in the church cemetery.
