Nancy Kelley Obituary

Nancy White Kelley, age 77, of Wallace, left this earthly life for her eternal rest on Sunday, May 3, 2020.

She was born on January 5, 1943 in Columbus County, NC; the daughter of the late Henry Brownie and Lorine Talbott White.  Nancy was predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years, James Floyd Kelley, Sr. and her brother, Jimmy White.

Nancy was a member of First Baptist Church of Wallace.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her devoted children, Floyd Kelley and wife, Kathy of Wallace, Vicky Campbell and husband, Jimmy of Woodbine, GA and Gwen Cavenaugh and husband, Kenneth of Wallace; grandchildren, Laura Hatcher and husband, Daniel, Sarah Kelley, Alex Campbell and wife, Calen, Rachel Paul and husband, Alex, Chandler Cavenaugh and Conner Cavenaugh; great grandchildren, Reese Campbell, Jamison Hatcher and Bennett Hatcher; sister, Judy Cavenaugh and husband, Jimmy of Wallace; brother, Jack White of Whiteville and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends that loved Nancy dearly.

Nancy was a loving mother and caring grandmother, sister, and friend.  She was gifted and talented in so many ways.  She had a gift of nurturing animals as well as plants back to health.  With her many talents and gifts, Nancy started Olive Branch Gardens in 1985 and made it into a successful family business today. She had a green thumb and could make any plant grow.  Nancy could sew anything into something beautiful… from amazing quilts to clothing and her embroidery was magnificent!  Many times, she would design her own pattern designs.  Nancy could also paint glassware or wooden trays that her husband, James had made.  Nancy raised several doves that she has nourished back to health.  Nancy was blessed with much love, gifts, and talents.  Most of all, Nancy loved her family and was proud of each of them.  Nancy will surely be missed but her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Due to Covid-19, there will be a private family graveside on May 4, 2020 at Kelley Family Cemetery with the Reverend Brandon Kelley officiating.

The family would like to thank Holly Tyndall and Sandy Murphy for the tender love and care they gave to Nancy during her illness.
