A kind and gentle soul, a gracious and loving lady, Pearline Lewis Newton, entered eternal rest on Monday, June 27, 2022 at the age of 83. She was born December 17, 1938 in Pender County to Robert and Reba Deal Lewis, living most all of her wonderful life in the small community of Willard.
In addition to her parents Pearline was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lloyd Stephen Newton in 2016.
Pearline is survived by her children, Jacqueline Ann Newton, Lloyd Stephen Newton, Jr. and his wife, Tamala, and Deborrah Lynn Newton; grandchildren, Jordan Fieldstein, Christian Cox IV, Brittany Cox Ricks (Ryan), Stephanie Fitzgerald, and Emily Ann Fitzgerald; great grandchildren, Lillian Register, Zoie Hendrickson, and Zachery Hendrickson; and special friend, Betty Rivenbark.
Pearline was an extraordinary woman of God whose resounding faith and love for family was unmatched. Her brightly shining light often served as a guide to those around her. Those that knew Pearline will always remember her passion for growing beautiful flowers, sharing her beautiful voice for the bereaved and church services, and her loved for the Lord. She was a true example of what it meant to be a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Friend. Her presence in our lives will be forever missed but we find solace in knowing she is at peace and rejoicing with her Almighty Father.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Hills Baptist Church, 2711 Penderlea Hwy, Burgaw, NC. The Rev. Timothy Cook will conduct the service. Burial will follow in Wells Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
