Peggy Ann (Bullard) Wood

Peggy Bullard Wood, much adored Mother, Grandmother, Aunt and friend passed away peacefully April 11, 2022.

She was born June 16, 1934, daughter of the late Vidella Tew Broome of Clinton, NC.  Peggy is predeceased by her daughters Sandra Osborne and Suzanne Wood and by her grandson Jason Osborne.

Peggy married the late Leon Wood in 1950 and moved to Jacksonville in 1966 with their children where they made Onslow County their home.   Peggy's career was the food and restaurant industry where she managed the Egg Carton, Waffle Shop and Onslow House Restaurants before working with Margolis Men's Store in the mid to late 80s.  She enjoyed cooking, baking and mostly the social aspect of the restaurants and taking care of others. She was an active member of Eastern Star & Amaranth for as long as she was able as well as a lifelong member of Brookwood Baptist Church.  Peggy dearly loved her family, friends and faith.

She is survived by her devoted son Jeffrey Wood and wife Paula; son-in-law Mike Osborne, grandchildren Todd Osborne and wife Christi, Caity Wood and great grandchildren Tinsley Osborne and Kyndel Mobley.

Peggy was devoted to her family and leaves behind many wonderful memories with a legacy of goodness and kindness towards others. She had a heart of gold, and we were grateful and blessed to know of her love.  She will surely be missed each and every day.

There will be a Celebration of Life held in Peggy’s honor at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home, 612 Norwood St, Wallace, NC on Thursday, April 14 at 3:00pm.

The family will receive friends from 2:00pm until 3:00pm, one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday.

Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Park, Watha, NC immediately follow the service.
