Rachel Anderson Dail

     Rachel Anderson Dail, age 90, of Wilmington passed gently from her earthly life Sunday, May 21, 2023 at her home. 

     She was born September 10, 1932 in Pender County, the daughter of Elbert and Callie Moore Anderson.  In addition to her parents Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Alson Dail who was the love of her life; son, Ronald Alson Dail; sisters, Theresa Maddron and Elaine Holder; and brother, Maurice Anderson.

     Rachel is survived by her  daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Ernie Grainger; daughter-in-law, Sandra Dail; grandchildren, LaNee` Senn (Mark), Melissa Grainger-Harry (Dan), and Korey Dail; great grandchildren, Bryce Luyster, Karlie Senn, Natalie Senn, and Aiden Grainger; many nieces and nephews including special niece, Christine Daly; and many extended family and friends, all who dearly loved Rachel.

     She was a long time faithful member of Watha United Methodist Church (now Watha Christian Church).

     Rachel was a lady of many words, good deeds and lots of action as she was a driving force in her family, church, and community. She loved watching basketball games and  in her younger years played the game quite well. In years past Rachel was a clogger with Cripple Creek Cloggers and what fun she had and created in her group of cloggers. Rachel’s home was always open and welcoming to all who entered. Her family was her pride and joy. Rachel’s quick wit, sunny smile, and joyful spirit will long be remembered.

    Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2023 at Watha Christian Church, 160 Camp Kirkwood Road, Watha, NC 28478. Rev. John Fedoronko and Rev. Dr. Steve Holder will conduct the service. Interment will follow in Watha Christian Church Cemetery.

    The family will receive friends at the graveside following the committal service.
