Raymond “Ray” Allen Teachey, 58, of Willard passed peacefully early Monday morning, October 26, 2020 at Liberty Commons Nursing Center in Wilmington.
He was born August 17, 1962 in Wilmington, the son of Raymond Lee Teachey and Jane Howard Teachey, both who preceded Ray in death.
Ray is survived by his brothers, Michael “Mike” Glenn Teachey and Anthony Dale Teachey and his wife, Sharon; nephews, Brandon, Kolton, Cody and wife, Julie, Caleb and Jacob Teachey; great nieces, Brooklynn Jane and Kate; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Ray followed in his dad’s footsteps by choosing over the road truck driving as a career. He traveled many miles through out the United States and enjoyed every minute of it.
With a big heart of pure gold Ray was always lending a helping hand to others. That along with love of family is what defined Ray as a man. He lived life with faith in Jesus, with gusto, with laughter, and always had a funny joke to share. Ray never had children of his own but was a “dad” to many children. His sunny smile and cheerful spirit brightened the lives of family and friends.
A memorial service will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Cora’s Grove Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church, 4875 Cora’s Grove Road, Watha, NC 28478. Pastor Randy Little and Pastor Brandon Teachey will conduct the service.
