Robert Fredrick Baker, 83, of Denver passed from his earthly life Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Novant Health Huntersville with family at his side.
He was born May 31, 1939 in Welland, Canada, the son of Fred and Esther Kish Baker. At the age of 15, Bob and his family moved to the United States of America, and all were granted citizenship shortly thereafter.
Bob was proud to be a Christian, proud of his Hungarian heritage, and proud to be an American citizen and US Air Force veteran. Family was most important to Bob. He was a proud, loving husband, father, grandfather, and son. With his vibrant personality he never met a stranger and extended hospitality to everyone he met along his life’s journey. He was always glad to lend a helping hand to neighbors and friends. Bob will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bob is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 36 years, Nancy Steller Baker; daughters, Serena McClamroch (Ken) and Suzi Watson (Chip); grandchildren, Jordan McClamroch, Logan McClamroch, McKenna Watson and Addison Watson.
A graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2022 at Riley’s Creek Memorial Cemetery, 2111 Clark’s Landing Loop Road, Rocky Point, NC 28457. Pastor Steven Owenby will conduct the service.
A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Westport Baptist Church in Denver.
