Robert Edward Wells

     Robert Edward Wells, 77, beloved husband, daddy, granddaddy, and loyal friend passed gently from his earthly life Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at home with his family.

     He was born April 1, 1945 in Pender County the son of Freeman and Lillie Wells. In addition to his parents Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Wells.

     Robert is survived by his devoted wife of 55 Years, Julia Ann Brown Wells; daughter, Jackie McClain; sons, Keith Wells (Tammy) and Shaun Wells (Lori); grandchildren, Kelsey Wood (Dakota), Jason McClain, Gracey Wells, Braxton Wells, and Ava Pearl Wells; sisters-in-law, Kaye Wells and Louise Moore; brother-in-law, Jimmy Casteen; best friend from childhood days, Ray Deal; numerous nieces, nephews and friends all who dearly loved Robert.

     Most important in Robert’s life was his family that he loved and cared for so well. He was a Pender County farmer ever since he was old enough to climb on a tractor. For many years Robert enjoyed morning coffee at Hardee’s with the “Coffee Gang.” He always found time for hunting, fishing, and watching NASCAR. Robert loved all creations in God’s outdoor wonderful world of nature.

     The family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Burgaw Chapel with funeral service beginning at 12 noon.  The Reverend Barry Wells will conduct the service.  The Wells family requests that everyone attending the service to dress causal.  

     Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park, Watha.

     Casketbearers will be Dakota Wood, Jason Casteen, Matthew Wells, Hagen Blake, Jason Leary and Lee Wells.

     Memorial gifts may be given to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
