Robert Douglas Teachey, Sr. age 75, of Watha, passed from this life to his eternal rest on Thursday, February 25, 2021.

He was born on August 21, 1945 in Pender County; one of ten children born to Herman Teachey and Minnie Horrell Teachey. Robert is also predeceased by his five siblings, Allen Teachey, Pansy Thompson, Thomas Teachey, Raymond Teachey and Nathan Teachey.

Surviving to cherish his memory is his loving wife of fifty-five years, Peggy Rooks Teachey; daughter, Tina Wells and husband, Bryan of Watha; son, Bobby Teachey and wife, Donna, also of Watha; grandchildren, Kaelyn Barton, Brittney Brown and husband, Brandon; great granddaughter, Karlynn Brown; brother, Jerry Teachey and wife, Sharon of Watha; sisters, Rae Wood and husband, Woody of Wallace, Fay English of Wallace and Margaret Henderson of Pin Hook and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved Robert dearly.

Robert was a devoted husband and loving father, grandfather and brother. He enjoyed the simple things in life but his greatest joy was his family. He was the happiest when he was spending time with each of them. Robert was a people's person. He loved people and was loved in return. With a big heart and compassionate spirit, he enjoyed helping the elderly and the homebound. He took time to visit and do things for those in need. Robert was known for always having candy in his pocket to share with others. His favorite past-time was going to Walmart where he would meet his friends and together they would try to solve the problems of the world. He enjoyed working in the yard with Peggy and spending as much time as he could with her. Robert will surely be missed but treasured memories of him will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

There will be a private, family-only graveside service for Robert at Riverview Memorial Park, Watha.
