Roger Lane Pearce

Roger Lane Pearce, age 74, of Bailey, North Carolina passed from this earthly life to his eternal rest on Saturday, October 12, 2024.

He was born in Wake County, North Carolina and was the son of the late Roger E. and Annette Moore Pearce.  Mr. Pearce was also preceded in death by his wife Phyllis Carver Pearce and only brother Michael Pearce.

Mr. Pearce proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a graduate of NC State University where he received his Masters in Geology. 

Surviving to cherish his memory is his niece Sarah Pearce Buss of Durham, NC; nephew Michael Pearce of Durham, NC and Marcus Perry of Greenville NC; cousins LuAnn M. Rivenbark and husband A.C. of Wallace, Walda W. Eason of Wallace and Esther Murphy of Wilmington; numerous extended family and friends that loved Roger dearly. 

Roger was a kindhearted man who would do anything he could for others.  As a child, Roger had a good sense of humor and enjoyed playing tricks on his cousins. Being a true lover of nature, he loved to drive the back roads through the countryside to enjoy the beauty of God’s natural environment. Roger loved to travel and he especially enjoyed his trip to Tibet and Kathmandu.  He was an avid animal lover who had numerous animals during his life. Roger loved God and marveled at all His creation.  His faith sustained him during his time of sickness and ill health.  Roger will surely be missed but treasured memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved Roger.    

There will be a private service for family at a later date.
