Ronald “Ronnie” Brown, 75, of White Lake and formerly of Wallace, NC died on Monday evening, August 24, 2020 at his residence.
He was born on December 29, 1944 in Duplin County and was the son of the late Norman and Eva Batchelor Brown.
Ronnie served numerous families for 35 years with Jefferson-Pilot Insurance. After retiring with Jefferson-Pilot, he then went back to work with National Motor Company for 10 years. During his time with the insurance companies, he built race car engines and raced for many years. He served his country in the US National Guard.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Audrey Stone Brown of their home; his daughter, Brittainy Brown of Raleigh; granddaughter, Clara Britt Schwartz of Raleigh; sisters, Barbara Jones and husband, Wilbert of Wallace and Vicki Williamson and husband, Eddie of Wilmington and numerous extended family and friends that loved Ronnie dearly.
Ronnie was a devoted husband and loving father, grandfather and brother. He was a people’s person and enjoyed his work as an insurance salesman throughout the years. He loved to laugh and to make others laugh also. With a keen sense of humor and witty personality, Ronnie made friends everywhere he went. He enjoyed drag racing, golfing and fishing, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his loving family. Ronnie will surely be missed but treasured memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Wallace. Everyone is asked to dress casual and in bright colors in honor of Ronnie.
The family will receive friends on Saturday immediately following the service at the funeral home until 4:00pm.
