Ruby Carolyn (Rogers) Heyer

Ruby Carolyn Rogers Heyer, age 87, of Rose Hill passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Vidant Duplin Hospital.

She was born on May 30, 1932 in Sampson County, NC and was the daughter of the late Bruce and Mary Swinson Rogers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Heyer and her siblings, Sylvia Fredrick, Hilton Rogers, Carlton Rogers and Phillip Rogers.

Ruby is survived by her sons, Eugene Baker of Rose Hill, Keith Baker and Bobby Baker (Teresa), all of Florida; grandchildren, Jamie Baker, Karen Baker, Ashley Jo McCartney, Mary Ann Baker and Brittany Baker; great grandchildren, Kaylee Baker, Luke Baker, Presley McCartney and Chandler Guy; sister, Olive Rose Shields, brother, Wilton Rogers and numerous extended family and friends that loved Ruby dearly.

Ruby was a loving mother and caring grandmother and sister.  She enjoyed the simple things of life but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.  Being a great cook, Ruby enjoyed cooking for others, especially her children and grandchildren.  She was an avid bargain shopper. If the item was not a good deal or bargain, Rudy would not buy it.  She enjoyed being outside working in her yard and enjoyed gardening.  When she wasn’t outside or inside cooking, Ruby was watching Family Feud or her soap operas.  Ruby was a kindhearted and beloved lady. She will be greatly missed but treasured memories of her will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
