Stephen Haley Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stephen Haley. Steve was born  to Lorraine and Tom Haley in Atlanta, GA. He graduated from Georgia State University in 1986 and married Rahel shortly after. They have shared a loving partnership for 38 years.

Steve displayed a selfless desire to protect others; first as a United States Marine where he attained the rank of Major and then in law enforcement for 17 years with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office in WA. After retiring, Steve and Rahel moved to Wilmington, NC to be nearer to family and enjoy life outdoors. Steve was most happy when he was outdoors whether growing food, hunting, playing with his dogs, caring for his chickens or learning about nature. Steve will be greatly missed for his humor, kindness, gentle strength, and generous spirit toward his fellow man.

Steve is survived by his wife, his extended family and his chosen brothers & sisters.

A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at 1pm, Friday, November 22, 2024 at the Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, family and friends may wish to donate to the Wounded Warrior Project www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
