Steven Bryan Ensley, 63, of Hampstead, passed away on September 24, 2021, at home surrounded by his family.
He was born on March 28, 1958, in Wilmington, to the late Bryan Dewey Ensley, Jr. and Mary Magdalene (Simpson) Ensley.
Steven was a hardworking, dedicated truck driver for S&W Concrete for over 35 years. He enjoyed going to the mountains with his beloved wife, Sue. They would often drive the Blue Ridge Parkway and go to estate sales on Saturdays. Steven loved his classic cars, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father and “Papa”. He always had a great sense of humor and was known by the family as the “cool uncle”.
Steven is survived by his wife and best friend, Sue (Montford) Ensley; his son, Jerry W. Coleman, Jr. and wife, Beth; his daughter, Susan Coleman Goins and husband, Clay; his sisters, Debra Ensley Lewis, Jane Marie Ensley Murphy; his grandchildren, Sutton Coleman, Chase Goins, Mary Coleman; his nieces, Gena Schroeder and husband, Eric, Becky Nemargut and husband, Mike, Jennifer Bradshaw; his nephew, Scott Bradshaw and wife, Emily; his cat, Mickie; and a host of other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Steven was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ann Bowers.
A memorial service will be held in Steven’s honor at 2 pm on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington with George Montford officiating.
