Susan Patricia (Bowden) Hale

     Susan Patricia Bowden Hale, age 66, of Rocky Point and Myrtle Beach passed gently from her earthly life Monday, June 15, 2020.

     She was born July 10, 1953 in Stoneham, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late James Edwin and Mary Patricia Sullivan Bowden. Also remembered is her brother, James “Jay” Edwin Bowden, Jr. who preceded Susan in death.

     Susan is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Tommy Hale; son, John Thomas Hale, Jr. and wife, Karen; daughter, Amy Hale Trussell and husband, Jeremy; grandchildren, Michael Coleman, Matthew Trussell, Sarah Trussell, and John “Jay” Thomas Hale III; sister, Laurel Brooks and husband, James; steadfast friends, Nan and Kent Ness and Diane Jenkins.

     Susan was a lady of quiet grace, a loving wife and caring mother, Nana, sister and friend. Her grandchildren have been glowing, joyful lights in her and Tommy’s life. Since 1995, Susan and Tommy have enjoyed traveling to all but two states in the US, with countless miles put on their motor home. Susan loved time spent at the beach and in her busy life found time for crocheting and playing with her two dogs and three cats. Susan, with her radiant smile leaves an empty place in our family circle and in our hearts.

     Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2020 at Pike Creek Cemetery with Chaplain Rick Brewer conducting the service.
