Tamara Fay McDowell, 46, of Currie beloved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend left this earth way too soon, leaving a big hole in our hearts.
She was born January 4, 1974 in Wilmington and passed away on January 28, 2020. She was preceded in death by her son, Alexander “Alex” McDowell; father, Vernon E. McDowell; and love of her life, Jim.
Tamara is survived by her beloved mother, Glenda J. McDowell; brothers, Scott McDowell, Vernon McDowell, and Jeffrey McDowell (Chad) and their children Sky and Markus; several aunts including, Darlene Lanier; several nieces including, Kristi Byers; many cousins including, Becky Wilkins, Sumer McDowell, and Kim Padgett; and numerous extended family and friends, all who loved Tamera.
Tamara was a member of New Beginnings Community Church.
Tamara, with her joyful spirit shared her infectious laughter and love of life with family and friends. Her passions were horses and her dogs, but most of all she loved her family. Tamara’s passing leaves an empty place in our family circle and in our hearts.
The family will receive friends at 12 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2020 at New Beginnings Community Church, 1104 Richard Switch Road, Currie, NC 28435. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Sal Lana conducting the service.
Burial will follow in Malpass Memorial Cemetery at Long Creek Baptist Church.
