Theda (Mallett) Moran

Theda Mallett Moran, age 89, of Wallace passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Wallace Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

She was born on November 28, 1936, in Harrison County, Mississippi; the daughter of the late Roy McCoy and Thelma Vandora Johnson Mallett. Theda was also preceded in death by her granddaughter Meranda Moran and her siblings Kenneth Mallett and Maureen Mallett.   

Theda is survived by her children Randy Moran of Wallace, North Carolina, Graylan Moran and wife Frankie of Monks Corner, South Carolina, Janeen Cotton and husband Wayne of Ladson, South Carolina and Steve Moran and wife Mary of Bonneau, South Carolina; grandchildren Krystal Smith (Wil), Graylan Moran Jr. (Kathryn), Tige Moran (Suzanne), Wendy McCutchan, Michael Metts (Christine), Jennifer Moore (Chris) Andria Gaskins (Chris) and Dustin Moran; 17 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; brother Russell Mallett of Mississippi; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved Theda dearly.  

Theda was a simple woman who enjoyed the simplest things in life, but her greatest joy was family.  She loved her children and adored all her grandchildren.  Theda was a very good cook.  Her family and friends especially enjoyed her seafood gumbo, homemade biscuits and fresh homemade pound cake.   Theda was a hairstylist who owned her own salon while living in South Carolina.  She was an avid outdoorswoman who loved to fish, hunt and enjoy God’s beauty of nature.  Theda will truly be missed but treasured memories of her will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
