Thomas Glenwood Allen, Jr.

     Thomas Glenwood Allen, Jr., age 55, of Burgaw, beloved son, husband, father, granddaddy, brother, and loyal friend left this earth way too soon, leaving a big hole in our hearts. 

     Tom was born in Pitt County on February 13, 1964.  He passed away on Friday, October 4, 2019 at his home.

    Tom is survived by his wife, Melinda Allen; son, Christopher Allen and wife, Kimberly; daughter, Alyssa Allen; mother, Mary Ellen Allen; sister, Ellyn Andrews; and three grandchildren, Aydan, Wesley, and Isabelle; and multiple nieces and nephews.

     Tom met his wife of 35 years as a teenager. They were married on February 18, 1984 and soon after he joined the US Marine Corps. After leaving the military, Tom and Melinda moved to Burgaw and shortly after they were blessed with their children. Tom was a friend to all and would do anything he could to help anyone who may have needed it. He was a truck driver hauling logs and loved what he did more than that he loved his trucking community. He was proud to be a veteran and always took the time to thank a fellow serviceman. He spent most of his time working on something and could fix anything. Tom spent his weekends with his family and grandkids and always put them first and endeavored to give them the best life he could. Tom will live forever in our hearts and memories. 

     There will be a gathering of family and friends 6 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel.
