Travis Jones

Travis Jones, age 59, of Wallace, left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 from the Oaks of Mayview in Raleigh.

He was born on October 4, 1960 in Pender County, North Carolina; the son of the late Joseph James Jones and Mildred Virginia Padgett Jones. Also lovingly remembered is his predeceased brother, Mike Jones.

Travis is survived by his devoted siblings, his brother, Randy Jones and wife, Lynne of Willard and his sister, Diane Jones Mills and husband, Lawrence of Watha. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved Travis dearly. 

Travis was a quiet and simple man who loved his family very much.  He enjoyed being outside fishing, hunting or just enjoying God’s beautiful earth.  Being an avid racing fan, Travis liked watching Nascar, especially when the #3 car was driven by Dale Earnhardt. Travis was a kind and gentle man who will surely be missed.  His family is thankful to God for his life and for the memories he leaves to each of them.

There will be a private family graveside service at Watha United Methodist Church Cemetery. 

Travis’ family would like to express their sincere appreciation and thank you to Dr. William Dunlap and the staff at Oaks of Mayview for their kindness and the compassionate care they gave to Travis during his stay.
