Troy Edward Green

     Troy Edward Green, 58, of Rocky Point passed from his earthly life Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center following a long courageous battle with lung cancer.

     He was born born March 15, 1964 in Parkersburg, WV, the son of Henry Edward Green and Sandra Rexroad Green. In addition to his parents, Troy was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Green.

     Troy is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Debra “Debbie” Green; son, Nathan Green; daughter, Tiffany Byrd and her husband, Donald; grandchildren, Cassidy Laws, Nathan Green II, and Joshua Byrd; brothers, Tim Green (Elizabeth) and Ty Green; many extended family members and friends, all who thought the world of Troy. Not to be forgotten is Troy’s dachshund, Hundley, who was a faithful companion.

     Troy was a kindhearted man of faith who loved and cared for his family. Often Troy generously extended a helping hand when and wherever needed. He was a help to friends, neighbors and even to strangers. He made time for fishing, a pastime he truly enjoyed. Most of all Troy loved spending time with his grandchildren as they brought joy and sunshine into his life. Troy presence in our lives will be greatly missed, but he will forever remain in our hearts.

     A Celebration of Troy’s wonderful life will be held at a later date.
