Vivian Bedsole Gurganus, age 98, of Wilmington, NC passed away on Friday, June 12, 2020.
She was born on July 7, 1921 in Wilmington, NC to the late Charlie Lee Bedsole and Bonnibel Carter Bedsole.
Vivian was raised in Wilmington, NC and spent her entire life there. She was a valued member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, serving as Elder, member, and Sunday school teacher. Vivian enjoyed working at Roland-Grise Middle School as school secretary for over 20 years. She was a loving wife of 54 years to her late husband, Travis C. Gurganus. Vivian loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Gary Gurganus and wife, Lynette, and Mark Gurganus and wife, Renee; her grandchildren, Duane Gurganus, Shane Gurganus and wife, Kristina, and Ashley Coleman and husband, Jay; and great-granchildren, Gunner, Alex, Tripp, Addison, Lillian and Scarlet.
Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, Travis C. Gurganus; and her brother, Alton Bedsole.
A celebration of life will be held on July 7, 2020, which would have been Vivian’s 99th birthday, at 3:30pm at Anchor Baptist Church, 300 Futch Creek Road in Wilmington, with Pastor Danny Nobles officiating.
