Cremation Services
Each family has their own unique beliefs and traditions. That's why we provide services with a personal touch. Our goal is for each service to be a true reflection of the life that has been lived.
Our services include:
Traditional funeral service followed by cremation
The traditional funeral followed by cremation includes a family or public viewing of your loved one. Following this will be a service, typically at the funeral home, in the church, or at another facility of choice. The cremation would be performed as the final disposition following the funeral service. After the cremation, the cremains will be given to the next of kin or may be buried in a cemetery if the family desires.
Cremation with memorial or graveside service
If you prefer to have services after cremation takes place, we can help you plan a memorial service. Alternatively, if you plan to bury the cremains or urn, you can choose a graveside service.
Cremation with no funeral service
With this straightforward option, no visitation or service will be held. Instead, cremation will take place, and the cremains will be given to the next of kin or buried in a cemetery if the family desires. If you wish, you can choose to hold a service or gathering on your own.
Our Crematory
Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home provides a full range of funeral choices to each family, including cremation. We offer many cremation options, from direct cremation to a full funeral service followed by cremation. A complete line of cremation urns, vaults and jewelry are available. Quinn-McGowen is also able to assist families with special memorial services or other memorialization options to best reflect the life of your loved one.
All cremations are performed in our crematory in Pender County, which is situated on property that has been a part of the Debnam Family for over one hundred years. The crematory building is nestled among beautiful pine trees in a modern facility built in 2003. Our families can rest easy knowing our staff meticulously follows all procedures established by North Carolina law and, at all times, maintains the care and safety of their loved one as our highest priority.
Additional Customization:
Why is it important to have a meaningful, healing, and personalized funeral service?
Meaningful - When something has meaning, it has deeper purpose, deeper poignancy. By intentionally creating a meaningful service, you allow mourners - family, friends, neighbors - to say goodbye in a way that will help them heal and bring peace and comfort for years to come.
Healing - After the death of someone loved, you will experience feelings of grief. These emotions look different from person to person (sadness, anger, guilt, regret, shock, disbelief), but a meaningful service can help bring healing and comfort to a hurting heart.
Personalized - Above all, it’s essential to personalize a funeral service. Without personalization, you cannot create meaning or facilitate healing. Without personalization, you get a cookie-cutter experience instead of a one-of-a-kind final tribute.
Together, all three - meaningful, healing, and personalized - come together to create a truly unique funeral experience that will heal hurts, touch hearts, and help you say goodbye to a truly unique and irreplaceable person.
